A senior royal member of the Amangcamane clan, Alfred Maseko, has died after a long illness.

Maseko, 80, passed away at his Secunda home last Saturday. An ardent critic of the Swaziland government, he spent most of his life campaigning for the restitution of the Maseko kingship in Swaziland, lobbying various southern African region governments.

Maseko will be buried on Sunday at Kinross cemetery after a service at Khutsong Community Hall in Embalenhle. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, and eight children.
