Agliotti drug case postponed

The drug-dealing trial of Brett Kebble murder-accused, Glenn Agliotti, and four others has been postponed to March next year.

The drug-dealing trial of Brett Kebble murder-accused, Glenn Agliotti, and four others has been postponed to March next year.

Agliotti, Stephanos Paparas, his father Dimitrio Paparas, and Stanley Poonin had to pass unidentified blood splatters near the stairs of the Germiston courtroom where they appeared yesterday. Stephanos, wearing a light blue tie, dusted the back of his 70-year-old father's jacket as they gathered in the dock.

Counsel for Agliotti, Lawrence Hodes - who wore a pink tie and gelled-back hair - winked at a journalist he recognised before proceedings began. A surprise in the courtroom was the tall figure of Clinton Ronald Nassif - implicated along with Agliotti in the Kebble murder.

Scorpions prosecutor Gerrie Nel said Nassif, 39, was added to the list of accused in the case and was asked to stand in the dock with the four other accused. The accused face drug-dealing charges for allegedly exporting R250million worth of drugs to the US.

Investigators apparently seized 1114kg of dagga and 2064kg of hashish at the time of their arrest. On July 7 last year the Scorpions arrested Lesley Allan Curtis, Christiaan Alblas, Pedro Marques, Dimitrio Paparas and Poonin during a raid on a self-storage facility in Alberton.
