The IFP Youth Brigade (IFPYB) has refuted suggestions that it wants the party to amend its constitution so that it can accommodate the position for a deputy president.
Speculation has been rife that some leaders within the party were mobilising the youth to demand that IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi approve an amendment to the constitution.
Buthelezi has been the party president since its inception in 1975.
Patricia Lebenya, acting national chairman of the IFP Youth Brigade, said yesterday that they had never discussed the issue and that no member had made an informal proposal in that regard. - Canaan Mdletshe
