Traffic congestion affects economy

There needs to be more pointsmen and women on duty. They can catch all the speedsters they want and I will back them to the hilt, but many motorists would appreciate them at major traffic points too, especially when it rains and signals are out.

Failure to ease traffic congestion costs the country as much as a major accident in lost time, and more reckless behaviour from impatient drivers. The Road Accident Fund is bleeding at R20billion and any effort to bring down road accident costs makes sense.
