With her passion for music, endless enthusiasm and the perseverance that has helped to build her career, Ukhozi FM deejay Nonhlanhla Buthelezi is going far.

Mroza, as she is popularly known by the station's listeners, oozes confidence.

The female deejay hosts Ukhozi FM's graveyard shows on Saturday. It is a pity that her fresh talent is wasted at night when the majority of people are asleep. She is a strong candidate for Ukhozi FM's breakfast show.

The loud Mroza starts her shift on Saturday at 1am with Ingxoxo. At 2am she is back with Studio Mix, trying to keep people awake with music. She plays the music until 4am when she wraps up her midnight slot with Cothoza Mfana.

In the show, she plays a lot of scathamiya music, exposing young and established groups.

She breaks off for two hours and is back at 7am sounding fresh. She does a wedding show called Kwakuhle Kwethu and ends her day with a children's show, Ukhozi Lodado.

On Sunday morning she hits the airwaves again, from 6am until 7.30am.

What is fascinating about her is that she is so clued up about the Zulu culture and she is proud of it. She is hungry to learn and excel.

Since she started working for Ukhozi she has worked hard to be where she is today.

Mroza started her career at Icora Community Radio Station at Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal.

She used to present the station's Drive Home Show between 3pm and 6pm.

This is where her broadcasting skills were honed.
