The Soweto Beach party held at Power Park, Klipspruit, claimed the life of a teenage girl.
Community members yesterday alerted Soweto police about the body of an unidentified girl found in an open field next to the events venue.
Soweto police spokesman, Captain Nomvula Mbense, said the girl was aged between 15 and 16.
"The girl had two stab wounds on her body and we suspect that she was raped before she was killed."
Mbense said they could see that she had attended the successful Beach Party because she had an entrance sticker stuck on her arm.
A murder inquest has been opened.
