Glory Khathi says she is grateful to the support she received from the community of Westbury and Boxing SA before and during her first venture into promotion last weekend.
"I just cannot explain it," said Khathi, whose Tsebo Boxing Promotion staged its maiden tournament at Westbury Community hall.
"Doing a tournament is nerve wrecking. You are not sure of what hiccups to anticipate but the BSA office was helpful and communities from Westbury came out in great numbers to support the event.
"I am bowled over."
She also paid tribute to the Westbury sports and recreation department for allowing her to use the community hall and credited her associates Peter Favor, Benny Pailman and Cliff Martins from the Westside Boxing Academy.
These musketeers, who hone the skills of fighters in that area, played a major role in hooking Khathi up with the sports department.
"We managed to organise ourselves.
"The security and ushers did well", said Khathi.
