The new public protector says she will leave the dispute over the state capture report prepared by h.
The silly season is upon us again. Bafana's coach threw a hissy-fit and his lieutenants tossed their toys out their tog bags.
Once again we waited with bated breath for players to arrive at the national camp before a big international game. And once again the grandees at Safa and PSL headquarters did sweet bugger all about resolving the club- versus-country debate.
Bright young stars here and abroad should not have to make these decisions. The clubs pay their fat salaries and have a queue of fresh talent lining up for our players' places. Players must keep their club coaches happy or they will be out of a job.
But the national coach needs a team he can comfortably field against the best our opponents muster. No wonder he gets spitting mad when key players don't rock up, feigning injuries or openly pleading club obligations.
Our brains trusts compile league schedules year after year without considering Cosafa and other conflicting obligations.
If they can't draw up non-conflicting schedules they should hire someone who can. And our fatcats on the international bodies should put down their champagne glasses long enough to help resolve this problem once and for all.
Don't blame the players.
