Collins "The Big Animal" Chabalala says he has recovered from a long injury and is ready to make his debut for Black Leopards.
The 28-year-old has recovered from an Achilles tendon injury he suffered while he was still at Orlando Pirates last season.
He joined Lidoda Duvha in the close season while he was still recovering from the injury that forced him to undergo an operation while he was still a Buccaneer.
He has been involved in light training sessions at Leopards in the off-season but soon started serious training with the rest of the squad.
"I can't say I'm 100 percent fit to play because I have not been playing competitively at Black Leopards," said Chabalala yesterday.
"But I must say I have been training hard and am convinced that I can play first-team football again. I'm really itching for action but I will take things slowly as they come."
Tshifhiwa "Chief' Thidiela, Leopards' spokesman, yesterday said Chabalala's commitment at training has been beyond doubt.
"He has been training hard with the rest of the players in his bid to fully regain his fitness level," Thidiela said
"We like his attitude at training. His attitude is that of a soldier who is eager to always overcome obstacles in life."
He said Chabalala's return at the team will solidify their frontline.
Boebie "Mzala" Solomons confirmed yesterday that Chabalala has been training hard, but he could not say how long the player would return to competitive football.
Solomons also insisted that they were capable to finish within the top eight bracket this season.
"It will not be an easy campaign this season but the players are keen to ensure that we do well."
