Led Zeppelin's decision to reunite for a once-off gig has delighted fans - with more than a million devotees desperate to get tickets for the performance.

Led Zeppelin's decision to reunite for a once-off gig has delighted fans - with more than a million devotees desperate to get tickets for the performance.

The group announced plans to reunite for a special tribute concert last week

in honour of late music mogul Ahmet Ertegun, 27 years after they split.

And fans were keen to register for the ticket ballot for the November 26 gig at London's O2 Arena - the website recorded more than a billion hits, while one million people managed to put their names down for the draw.

Concert promoter Harvey Goldsmith said: "We would like to thank all the fans for their support and we hope all those fortunate enough to be successful will keep the tickets out of the hands of the touts."

Last week, the unprecedented demand for the 20000 tickets available crashed the band's ballot registration website within minutes of the site going live on Wednesday last week.

Registration for tickets has now closed. - Wenn
