Cry, beloved Zim

The world must take some responsibility for what is happening in Zimbabwe.

The world must take some responsibility for what is happening in Zimbabwe.

Reading an article on Monday, "Cry, the broken refugee", by Andrew Molefe, made me feel very sad with what is happening to ordinary people in Zimbabwe - like the reality that a person who is a qualified teacher back home is forced to quit his job and come to South Africa where he ends up doing odd jobs like clearing rubble on construction sites.

We need more than weeping for the people of Zimbabwe - like perhaps donating R1 each here in South Africa to help poor Zimbabweans. Robert Mugabe is to blame for this sad situation.

To think there are Western or European countries who are still encouraging economic sanctions against Zimbabwe is outrageous. Are these sanctions having any effect on cabinet ministers and Mugabe? The answer is "no", rather they hurt ordinary, poor Zimbabweans.
