Birds, Celtic spew threats

Bloemfontein Celtic and Moroka Swallows have something in common - they are unbeaten in four league matches this season.

But they are not in the same position on the log as Phunya Selesele are perched on the summit of the table, while the Birds are flying further down in sixth position.

But if the comments of the spokesmen of the two teams are to be taken seriously, then one of them will lose, come Sunday.

Celtic welcome Swallows to the Seisa Ramabodu Stadium in a Premier Soccer League match at 3pm.

Celtic's publicist Sello Nduna, did not mince his words when he declared yesterday that they will roast the Birds.

"I don't have any doubts in my mind that Swallows will return to Johannesburg without a point. We are not going to allow them to do as they please on Sunday," warned Nduna.

Nduna's counterpart at Swallows, Sipho Xulu, was equally intimidating in his comments yesterday.

"We are going there in one piece and we will return in one piece. But there will be a difference when we return to Jozi, though, because we will be having the three points in the bag," Xulu said.

The hosts, who are mentored by Khabo Zondo, have quality players who can frustrate Swallows.

Ian Gorowa, the Birds' coach, will bank on the likes of Hellings Mwakasungula, Lefa Tsutsulupa and Mark Haskins.
