Once again music lovers from Mpumalanga will be treated to the best local sounds when the Emalahleni Jazz on the Dam returns on October 7.

Having started six years ago, Emalahleni Jazz on the Dam will take place at the Witbank Dam. The event has grown to become one of South Africa's biggest events in the entertainment calender.

The annual event offers a mixed blend of jazz, afro-jazz and afro-pop. In the line-up will be Tshepo Tshola, Stimela, Ringo Madlingozi, Mafikizolo, Selaelo Selota, Simphiwe Dana, Kelly Khumalo, Junema 3sum, Africano and Chissa.

Prosper Mukwaiwa, the promoter of the show, said about 50 percent of the proceeds from the event would go to anti-drug institutions like Sanca, Friends for Life (HIV-Aids activists) and Feeding the Nation with Pride.

"This initiative is aimed at showcasing and highlighting the importance of fighting substance abuse as we approach 2010. This year's theme is Operation Khuzani - for the fight against drug and substance abuse."

Emalahleni Nkangala Jazz on Dam has for years proved to be a scintillating and African musical show that people love and enjoy.

Entry fee to this all-day event ranges from R100, R120 to R150.
