For 25-year-old Boyane Sebola ensuring that the holes in the fence along the South Africa-Zimbabwe border are closed is an uphill and emotional battle.
He described his job as being "on the line", meaning that he walks along the 50km stretch of fence at Beit Bridge repairing the holes in the fence.
Sebola earns R2500 a month which is paid by farmers who hired him specifically for the job.
He said that although he hated it, he sometimes apprehended one or two illegal Zimbabweans himself to prove to his employers that he did not accept bribes and let them through.
