Moroka Swallows seem to have inspired their supporters with a return to the brand of football they used to display in the past.

The Birds, under the watchful eye of new coach Ian Gorowa, are back to their old style of play and are fast attracting supporters to their games.

On Sunday they host Lamontville Golden Arrows in a Castle Premiership game at Germiston Stadium and soccer lovers are bound to throng that stadium.

The Birds and Abafana Bes'thende are both playing carpet football and there is rarely a dull moment when the two meet.

Swallows' manager Sipho Xulu said they have to entertain the fans while scoring goals.

"This is a tough league so we have to start collecting points as early as possible. We want to be ahead when the league programme reaches the halfway mark," he said.

Xulu said they have the team to challenge for the league title.

"It is balanced all-round and we have exciting players."

He added that Arrows were a difficult team to beat, but they were determined to collect as many points as they could.

Arrows' public relations officer Zwelethu Mzolo said they had turned the corner and were going for a win against their experienced opponents.

"Our motto is to win all our away games, a draw will not be enough for us," he said.

"The boys are hungry for glory and have been hard at training. We need to finish up there with the big boys because this is the time for them to prove themselves.

"We're not going there for fun, but to collect the maximum points."

Swallows have players who play the game with passion. Their midfield ace, Lefa Tsutsulupa, who has become the engine room of the team, is a marvel to behold.

He will be playing alongside the stylish Mark Haskins, the hard- running Cecil Oerson, the steady Tsweu Mokoro and the up-and-coming Thulani Ncepe.

The visitors from the coast will rely on Papi Zothwane, Norman Smith, new recruit from Maritzburg United Dumisani Memela and Andile Wanda from the side's development ranks.
