Alleged killer of two policemen abandons bail application

The case against the man accused of killing two police constables during a robbery in Midrand was postponed in the Randburg magistrate's court yesterday.

The case against the man accused of killing two police constables during a robbery in Midrand was postponed in the Randburg magistrate's court yesterday.

After lengthy discussions between David Monyebudi's attorney, Makhi Nogaga, and the state, the matter was postponed to October 25.

Nogaga abandoned his client's bail application yesterday following the talks.

Nogaga, however, told the magistrate, Stanley Mkhari, that he did not wish to completely abandon the application for bail as another could be made in the future.

After Monyebudi's brief appearance, Nogaga refused to divulge the nature of his talks with the state's counsel.

"They are very confidential," he said.

Monyebudi faces charges of murder for his alleged involvement in the attempted robbery at an car fitment centre in Midrand on March 17.
