Parreira lacks knowledge of African football

Words cannot express how I feel about Carlos Alberto Parreira's knowledge of African football.

Words cannot express how I feel about Carlos Alberto Parreira's knowledge of African football.

The type of team combination in the game against Zambia, as well as the composition of the midfield, left me wondering as to where the coach is actually heading with the team.

My congratulations however to Zambia, in particular Chris Katongo. He proved once again how sharp he can be. But what is even exciting is that based on the Zambians' performance, we might have a stronger team at the African Cup of Nations (Afcon).

I also want to thank Benni McCarthy for coming back and scoring a valuable goal. I just wonder what Parreira is trying to achieve by playing so many games against European teams while ignoring African teams.

I cannot see how Uruguay will be beaten with such pathetic tactics. Flashes of Brazil missing out on the semis of the previous World Cup came back - the guys were promising but yet outsmarted. I also don't understand why Siyabonga Nkosi was picked over Siyabonga Nomvete when we were losing by three goals.

My prediction is that after losing to Uruguay tomorrow, the man could start adding South Africa as former employers, as calls for his head will begin. With so many tough games such as the ones against Italy and the US - just before the Afcon - the losses will be enough to get him fired.
