A drug dealer with whom Gift Leremi spent the last few hours of his life before crashing a friend's car was conspicuously absent at the footballer's funeral.
This is in contrast with his presence at the memorial service which he attended along with a mule who was also in Leremi's company on that fateful day.
Sowetan yesterday published a story saying the trio was close after Leremi met the dealer at a Johannesburg shopping mall.
Police yesterday said the man has still not come forward to make a statement.
A family member told Sowetan at the funeral that they would not approve of him attending the funeral.
"We do not want to see him here," said the family member. - Staff Reporter
