A memorial service for Mamelodi Sundowns player Gift Mpho Leremi, will be held at Grace Bible Church in Pimville today at 10am.

Leremi, who played for the Under-23 and Bafana Bafana, died in a car crash on Monday night, will be buried next Monday after a funeral service at the same venue.

Soccer bosses and government officials are expected to attend today's service.

Earlier this week a family squabble threatened to delay Leremi's funeral and his two families were called to the Sundowns headquarters in Chloorkop, Midrand.

At the meeting, his maternal and paternal families decided on Leremi's burial place place.

Leremi died on Monday night on Klipriviersberg Road after he lost control of his car.

Police are trying to piece together clues to unravel the cause of the fatal accident.
