It is back to the station for Moruti "Baby Face" Mthalane.

This fighter from KwaZulu Natal, whose skills are honed by Nick Durandt in Gauteng, will fight the Philippines' Apol Suico at Park Station on September 29.

They will collide for the vacant WBC International flyweight title which was relinquished by Mhikiza "Showtime" Myekeni whose blossoming career was cut shot by a near fatal car accident last year.

Promoter Branco Milenkovic, who promoted Myekeni, confirmed that he would assist promoter Pat Molefe with the staging of the Mthalane-Suico fight.

Molefe, who trades under the banner of Rainbow Boxing Promotions, does not hold an international licence and he is also not a WBC-registered promoter.

Milenkovic meets both these requirements.

For the record, Mthalane made his mark in the fight game during Molefe's tournaments at Park Station.

Victories against S'Phiwe Khumalo, Thembelani Maphuma and Mbulelo Nyanda qualified Mthalane to fight for the national title, which he won on a sixth-round stoppage over Akhona Aliva last year.

Mthalane has two successful title defences, stopping Zamumzi Xola in three rounds and Xola Sifama in five. Mthalane's sole defeat was against Nkqubela Gwazela way back in 2004.

He has 19 wins, 13 by knockout, and should win against Suico who is relatively inexperienced with 10 wins (6 KOs) and one defeat.

Meanwhile, fight fans, who will gain free entry, must brace themselves for war between Takalani Kwinda and Tshepo Mofokeng.

Kwinda will be defending his number one spot in the junior featherweight ranks against the ninth-ranked Mofokeng.

Molefe's seven-bout card will be broadcast live by SuperSport.
