Emmanuel "Scara" Ngobese and Gert Schalkwyk are still the property of Kaizer Chiefs, though the two midfielders have been placed on transfer by Amakhosi.

But Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral insisted that the two were not in his plans for the season, even though they were still contracted to the club.

Ngobese and Schalkwyk were put on transfer with Serge Djiehoua and Patrick Mayo, who both joined Benoni Premier United; Siphiwe Mkhonza, who joined SuperSport United; and striker David Radebe who joined BidVest Wits.

Schalkwyk was rumoured to be joining North West outfit Platinum Stars but that deal fell through. No team came with an offer for midfield dynamo Ngobese.

"Both are not in my plans, I have acquired some few young players for the season," said Ertugral.

Chiefs' team manager Bobby "Bobsteak" Motaung said though the two players were put on transfer, they still belonged to the club.

He said: "Schalkwyk was to join Platinum Stars, but the side could not agree terms with the player, as a result the deal fell through.

"The window period opens in December, hopefully some of the teams in the Premiership will grab them. Again, it is up to the coach to use them if he wants. If he decides not to use them it's up to him."

Sources in the team said Ngobese was so frustrated he even toyed with the idea of staying at home rather than train with the team.

Before he was placed on transfer, the Katlehong-born player was linked with Orlando Pirates, a team he was initially linked with before signing the current deal with Amakhosi.

Efforts to trace the players proved fruitless yesterday.
