Crosstitution

Claiming to represent people when they have not asked you to do so is sheer political opportunism.

Claiming to represent people when they have not asked you to do so is sheer political opportunism.

Yet 13 years after our democracy, we are allowing this decadent practice.

The injustice of floor crossing is particularly devastating in local government politics.

Thousands of you elect a particular councillor because you believe in his policies or those of his party.

But come the floor-crossing period, the councillor thinks nothing of joining a party you would never grant your vote.

You have been rigged. Your vote has been stolen by the opposition. It is totally undemocratic: no longer a government of the people by the people.

How indeed do our political masters hope to win the fight against moral degeneration when their legislation encourages the deception of voters by political prostitutes?
