The trial of former Free State MEC Playfair Morule, who was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident, was postponed in the Bloemfontein regional court yesterday.

The trial of former Free State MEC Playfair Morule, who was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run accident, was postponed in the Bloemfontein regional court yesterday.

Morule is facing culpable homicide charges after Onikwa Mtila, 21, was killed in the accident.

The case was postponed to October 4 for further investigation.

Mtila's sister, who was with him when the accident happened, testified yesterday.

It was reported that Mtila's body was cut in half in the accident.

Morule, the former MEC for safety and security, was recently left out of the provincial executive when Premier Beatrice Marshoff reshuffled her cabinet. - Sapa
