William Gare has tipped Tshepo Mashego to win the WBA Pan African middleweight title against Jamie Pittman at the RSL club, New South Wales, Australia on September 14.

Gare knows Pittman like the back of his hand. He fought him for the WBF super middleweight title in November last year. Their fight was stopped in the eighth round after Pittman picked up a cut following an accidental clash of heads in the sixth round.

"Tshepo must move his head all the time because Pittman is a head hunter. Pittman is one of those not-so- clever southpaw," said Gare.

"He is one-dimensional. He throws a right jab and a straight left, that's all. If Tshepo remembers Gary Murray he will get the picture of Pittman."

Gare, the SA super middleweight champion, outclassed Mashego for the national junior middleweight title in November 2004.

If Mashego's performances in the losses to the highly rated Felix Sturm, Arsec Khachatrin and Vincent Vuma, are anything to go by then the relatively inexperienced Pittman, who has 14 wins from 14 fights, will have his hands full.

Mashego has 15 wins and seven defeats.

Pittman is the WBO Asia Pacific and the PABA middleweight champion. But Gare is the only credible opponent Pittman has fought. Mashego's trainer Paul Tshehla said the fight will be promoted by Dean Singleton of DST Promotions.
