Kaizer Motaung yesterday disassociated himself from Sowetan's report that Premier Soccer League officials who negotiated a TV dead with the SABC were paid a commission.
Said the Premier Soccer League (PSL's) chairman of the financial committee: "I merely mentioned that John Comitis and Ria Ledwaba were among people who negotiated the TV deal but had not said they were paid a commission.
"At that stage there were no payments. But that was later changed at last year's AGM when clubs voted that 10 percent bonuses be paid in future."
It appears the misunderstanding came about when Motaung responded to a question on whether commissions were earlier paid out in the previous deal or not, and who was involved.
In view of Motaung's explanation Sowetan regrets the inconvenience that might have been caused. - Molefi Mika
