Jacques Kallis is acting just like a spoilt brat

Jacques Kallis is behaving like a spoilt brat or a prima donna by quitting the Proteas because he was not selected for the Twenty20 tournament.

Jacques Kallis is behaving like a spoilt brat or a prima donna by quitting the Proteas because he was not selected for the Twenty20 tournament.

Yes, Kallis is the best allrounder in the county, if not in the world. He is rated in the league of former England all- rounder Ian Botham and former Indian maestro Kepil Dev. But he needs to know that for him to have become a superstar today, some players were dropped to make way for him.

Pakistan's Mohammed Yousuf, the best batsman in the world after Australian Ricky Pointing, will not be taking part in Twenty20 for the same reason as Kallis - his game is not suited to the format of the tournament.

Some people have gone as far as blaming the quota system for his exclusion, but if you look at the team selected, the batsmen are big hitters.

Mark Boucher's outburst accusing the administrators of having a vendetta against Kallis, shows a tendency among white players to criticise management because those at the helm are black.

They think they are owed favours for being in the team for a long time. Where was Boucher when Makhaya Ntini was dropped from the first 11 due to the loss of form in the World Cup and Justin Kemp was kept on despite his form?

Kallis must understand that no individual is bigger than the team and if he does not like competition, he must follow Kevin Pieterson into county cricket.
