South African junior sprinters made a clean sweep of the two 4x100m relay finals on the third day of the African Junior Athletics Champions in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on Saturday.

In both races the host country and Ghana won the silver and bronze medals respectively.

Earlier, Marcoleen Pretorius also won a gold in the women's high jump to bring the total of SA first places to six. She needed one jump to bring the gold medal home.

The women's relay team clocked 46,60sec while the junior men covered the distance in the ninth fastest time ever by a SA junior quartet.

Her time was 40,61sec. It was a second gold for Constance Mkenku who had already won the 100 metres. She also has a good chance in the 200m to make it three wins.

Christy Coetzee won silver in the long jump and in the javelin for boys. - Sapa
