Jazz singer Gloria Bosman, right, is the latest addition to this year's Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival taking place at Newtown in Johannesburg.
Bosman is replacing diva Thandie Klaasen, who has been forced to withdraw because of ill-health.
Bosman is expected to sing a song especially for the ailing Klaasen.
She joins some of this country's best female performers in the festival's own tribute to Women's Month. They include Mama Africa Miriam Makeba, Dorothy Masuka, Letta Mbulu, Siphokazi and Nombulelo.
The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival takes place from August 23 to August 25. Bosman, who has been applauded as a hardworking woman, has grown in the music industry.
She has an impressive biography and her international tours have established her locally and globally.
Peter Tladi, festival promoter, says: "We were looking forward to having Thandie at the show as she forms part of the legendary divas. When I visited her this week, she took me down memory lane as she juggled her career and motherhood. T Musicman will contribute towards her medical expences. We wish her a speedy recovery."
Bosman will be performing at the Bassline on Friday, August 24, with The Count Basie Orchestra, No Jazz and NYJB.
Other South African giants at the festival include Caiphus Semenya, Jonas Gwangwa, Stimela and Sipho Mabuse, who will accompany international acts Freddie Jackson, KEM, The Count Basie Orchestra, The Clarke-Duke Project featuring Stanley Clarke, George Duke and Delfeayo Marsalis.
