A father is searching for his mentally ill son who disappeared after boarding a taxi at Malelane in Mpumalanga ten days ago.

Ebie Motara, of Barberton, said he took his 30-year-old son Lala, pictured, who is known as Ishmael, to the town on August 3 to sort out papers relating to his monthly grant.

"When we finished, I put my son in a taxi to Barberton but he never reached home," Motara said yesterday.

Motara, who has opened a missing person's case at the Barberton police station, has been looking for his son since.

Lala was wearing a blue T-shirt, black tracksuit pants and white takkies. Motara asked anyone who sees Lala to report it at the nearest police station.
