Losing to Bloemfontein Celtic was not the only blow Orlando Pirates coach, Bibey Mutombo, suffered at the weekend. He also lost two cellphones in his hotel room.
On Friday, shortly after arriving in Mafikeng for the match, Mutombo's hotel room was entered by an unknown man.
The man claimed he was responding to a house call to fix air conditioners in the rooms. He went to different rooms and even entered the players' rooms, but did not take anything.
He then went into Mutombo's room while Mutombo was in the bathroom.
Orlando Pirates spokesman Mickey Modisane said: "Mutombo was distracted by some commotion in the room. He then went out to check what was happening.
"That is when he realised that his two cellular phones were missing."
Modisane said staff at Protea Hotel immediately played the footage from their surveillance cameras.
"The cameras captured the man, but the staff said he was not the hotel's employee," Modisane said.
Tanya Malan of Protea Hotel said they were disappointed by the incident.
Mafikeng police spokesman, Staff Tlhalerwa, said no arrest has been made.
