As Big Brother launched to feverish anticipation last night, some journalists thought twice about dishing out the dirt too soon.

The group of journalists that got first hand experience under relentless camera surveillance was invited by M-Net to spend last Wednesday night at the Big Brother house.

Among the scribes who grooved and splashed the night away were Sunday World's Kuli Roberts, Ukhozi FM'sDJ Sbu, City Pulse's Lerato Mogoathle, an independent Mandla Motau and myself. There was even actress Pam Andrews in the house.

Whether the components of this reality programme manages to keep the 12 contestants' apprehension and moments of anxiety at bay, remains to be seen. They have all 98 days ahead of them and Kabelo Ngakane on the other side of the fence. Ngakane is this year's host and he has taken over the reigns from Mark Pilgrim who hosted the show in 2004.
