The last finalist for the regional winners in the Tsogo Sun Duke of Edinburgh golf tournament will be known at the Pecanwood Country Club on August 14.

Already four regional winners who will be taking part in the shootout have been announced.

They are Trish Taylor from the Sun Coast Casino, Bertie Diedericks from the Emnotweni Casino, Wesley Putzier from the Hemingways Casino and Darryl Hendricks from the Ridge Casino.

From the five regional finalists who will be engaged in the shootout on August 14, one will qualify to take part in the international Duke of Edinburgh's Individual World Final at the Berkshire and the World Pairs Competition at Wentworth, United Kingdom, in October.

Proceeds from the golf days, held by each of Tsogo Sun Gaming's properties, are donated to local charities such as the Greater Rape Intervention Programme, to assist with their outstanding work in treating victims of rape.

Others are the Care Village Home and the Promised Land, which focus on the needs of people with Aids, abandoned and abused children in the Frere and Cecelia Makiwane Hospitals, in East London, as well as children born in local prisons of mothers serving sentences.

Other organisations which benefitted are the Right to Live Campaign, an organisation that supports those who are being raped, suffer abuse of any kind, poverty and Aids and the Ikageng Itireleng Aids Ministry in Soweto and the Witkoppen School in Fourways.

Noeleen Bruton, director of marketing for Tsogo Sun Gaming, said: "We are honoured to be involved in such a prestigious event, which makes a difference to the lives of so many people, both in South Africa and around the world.

"We'd like to invite the corporate golfing community to be part of this event which is held yearly."
