'Lauryn ain't for reunion'

Wyclef Jean has blasted former bandmate Lauryn Hill for ruining any chance of a Fugees reunion.

The three-piece - comprising Jean, Hill and Pras Michel - reunited briefly in 2004 and 2005 with a European tour and rumours of a new album.

However, Jean insists a future collaboration is out of the question unless Hill changes her attitude and accepts her original role in the hip-hop group.

He says, "Lauryn is straight up the problem, bro. She wants to be a producer. Don't come telling us how to chop up beats so you can get credit for it.

"If the Fugees wanna come back, and Lauryn wanna come back . you can't break the format. Don't come back and be like, 'I wanna produce a beat'. That's like me saying I wanna sing an R&B vocal.

"When we was working on the album, I was like, [to Lauryn], 'You need to do this like this'. [And] she says, 'How do you know what's relevant? I haven't heard anything from you in the past like three, four years?' The minute she said that I was like, 'I gotta go back to working'."

Michel has voiced the same concerns in the past, saying a Fugees reunion is "straight dead". He too blamed Hill and "some issues she needs to deal with".

The Fugees split in 1997 to pursue solo careers. - Wenn
