Goods train assistant driver Grace Matodzi and her white lover, who she prefers to only call Hannes, are allegedly being harassed and taunted - surprisingly by their senior black and white bosses - because of their affair across the colour line.
She also claims she has been denied promotion because of her relationship with a white man.
This is outrageous.
Apartheid is long dead, unless the bosses involved think otherwise. Mixed-race affairs constitute no crime.
It is commendable that Transnet Freight Rail has promised to probe the matter. We hope that Matodzi and her lover are allowed to live in peace.
