The 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee are visiting Rustenburg tomorrow for a workshop with local marketing and communications people.

Gert Kruger, Rustenburg World Cup Local Organising Committee coordinator, said they would deal with various issues, including the setting up of a website.

"It will be a more technical workshop. People from the LOC will give us guidelines on the development of a website, which will be linked to the one of Fifa.

"Part of the workshop will also deal with issues relating to compliance in relation to the requirements of the Fifa technical committee.

"The use of Fifa logos and 2010 World Cup trademarks will also be dealt with in length so that we do not find ourselves in trouble.

"The issue of colour usage will also be covered," said Kruger, adding that Rustenburg Municipality was planning a business opportunities conference.

"We are still awaiting confirmation from the Local Organising Committee. The plan is for a two-day event taking place in the first week of September.

"We want to create opportunities and also make sure people benefit. It will be a massive conference where SMMEs, big business and other stakeholders will be attending."
