A 23-year-old suspect who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl will appear in the Willowvale area magistrates' court today.

Police spokesman Captain Jackson Manatha yesterday said the incident happened when the victim met the man at Mboya village on her way home.

Manatha said the man asked the girl about the tie she had borrowed from him.

"The victim allegedly told him that the tie was with another person. At this stage, the man demanded sex as repayment for the tie," Manatha said.

When she refused to have sex with him, the suspect dragged her to the forest where he allegedly raped her.

The man, who is now facing a rape charge, was arrested yesterday and will appear in court today.

In another incident, a woman was allegedly raped by a boy.

The boy was in the company of two other boys when the incident happened near Mboya village in Willowvale on Sunday.

Manatha said the woman was with her baby when she was reportedly raped by the boy.

He said when the boy proposed to the woman she turned him down.

"At this stage the suspect produced a knife and cut off the victim's dress."

He said the boy's friend held the baby while he raped the woman.

Police have not yet arrested the suspect but are still investigating.
