Durbanites are in for a treat on Saturday when US gospel star Kirk Franklin and our own Joyous Celebration perform in the city in the One World Music Festival.

Franklin will touch down at the OR Tambo International Airport tomorrow. The show is at the Durban International Convention Centre.

With the kind of following that Franklin and Joyous has in the country, thousands of fans from major cities of South Africa are expected to trek and converge on Durban this weekend for what promises to be a joyous musical journey and a celebration of gospelsounds.

Franklin will be with his 18-piece band, while Joyous Celebration will be with its own formidable 34-member choir, which features some of the finest vocal talent in South Africa.

The choir will be accompanied by an eight-piece band and a troupe of 10 dancers.

The One World concert is part of this year's yearly One World Festival, which aims to strengthen cultural and economic ties between New Orleans in the US and its sister city, Durban.

The One World Festival will host a business breakfast forum at the Royal Hotel on Friday to discuss the potential for business links and investment opportunities between New Orleans and Durban.
