fnb branches out

First National Bank opened FNB Mozambique in the capital Maputo yesterday. This follows FirstRand Bank Holdings's acquisition of an 80percent shareholding in Banco Desenvolvimento e Comercio (BDC) from majority shareholder Portuguese Montepio Geral Group and other shareholders. BDC has been operating in Mozambique since 2001. The bank operates four branches and three off-site ATMs in Maputo, and a micro-branch in Matola. FNB will rebrand BDC's branches -Staff Reporter
