This announcement was made at a gala ceremony held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on Saturday. This year the competition received a record 1,670 entries from 40 African countries.
Held in association with South African Airways and The Henry J Kaiser Family Foundation for HIV-Aids Journalism - the competition is sponsored by a number of leading African companies.
