Justice for all

That the majority of whites have not forgiven Robert McBride for his exploits as an anti-apartheid activist is obvious.

That the majority of whites have not forgiven Robert McBride for his exploits as an anti-apartheid activist is obvious.

They hated his pluck then and, we suspect, some want to puke at the mere mention of his name now.

The DA could easily have thrown a huge party after the Ekurhuleni Metro chief was suspended on Friday.

A hollow victory.

For executive mayor Duma Nkosi was right to lay off McBride until his case of, among others, intimidation and drunken driving, is resolved by a court of law.

We hold no brief for the cop. Still we believe, according to our Consitution, that everyone should be presumed innocent until proven otherwise.

When the NPA disclosed they were charging McBride, Nkosi had to give him time off.

We can only applaud the mayor's sensitivity.
