The SABC offices in Mpumalanga were on Wednesday flooded with confident young girls who believe that they have what it takes to be television presenters.

SABC1's marketing and casting crew was in Nelspruit looking for presenters who speak fluent siSwati and who also have a flair for television.

The many hopefuls who came along to audition for the plum job with the national broadcaster all hoped to be just what the channel was looking for.

The SABC said that after a successful launch of its new-look SABC1 channel with its dynamic on-air image, it is looking for continuity presenters who would "fit in and flow with the rhythm of the channel".

Moyahabo Phosa, the corporation's public relations officer in Mpumalanga, said: "The channel is not only in need of just any presenter.

"We are searching for a channel ambassador who will also serve as a custodian of SABC 1."
