Former Witbank Black Aces goalminder Cyprian "Mahala" Maimane will take over the reins at Witbank Spurs as coach in their two friendly games this weekend.
Maimane replaces Steve "Disco" Makua, who left the club recently.
Spurs take on Waterval Boven amateur side Super Eagles and Premiership side SuperSport United.
It is likely to be an acid test for Maimane, who will be assisted by former Umtata Bush Bucks' midfielder Harry "Sgila" Nkosi.
Sivutha Umlilo, as Spurs are affectionately known, will be hosted by Eagles at the Waterval Bowen Stadium on Saturday at 2.30pm.
They engage Matsatsantsa aPitori on Sunday in a 3pm kickoff at Ackerville Stadium. Nkosi said: "We have many new players and our focus is to make them ready before the season starts. These friendly matches will assist us to assess the players."
Spurs started their pre-season training earlier this month while United kicked off their pre-season programme last month. They spent seven days in Australia.
Thabo "T-Bose" Moroape, Spurs spokesman, said they have two objectives as regards the games.
"We want to measure our strength against big teams like SuperSport and at the same time unveil our new recruits to our supporters." Admission is R10 for adults and R5 for juveniles.
