Motorists should brace themselves for more traffic fines after a directive from Ekurhuleni Metro police chief, Robert McBride.
Beeld newspaper wrote on Friday that McBride had issued letters to officers instructing them to write a minimum of 10 traffic tickets a day. Officers who failed to reach the target would have to do foot patrols for three months and would not be allowed to work overtime.
This move is said to guard against officers claiming overtime while there was low production.
