After six weeks touring Europe, Simphiwe Dana, South Africa's newest jazz darling, makes a triumphant return home with a once-off concert at Sibaya Casino on August 9.

Dana made headlines this year when she scooped four awards at the South African Music Awards, including Best Vocal Jazz Album, Best Female Artist and Best Contemporary Jazz Album of the Year.

The glamorous star, who hails from the Transkei, has become one of the top stage and recording artists.

Her sense of community spirit is reflected in her intimate approach to music and many of her songs contain strong social messages.

Her music has touched thousands who have become devoted fans.

Both her albums, Zandisile and The One Love Movement on Bantu Biko Street, have been major hits.

Simphiwe's maturity as an artist belies her years.

Her philosophy is that "anything that advances life gives it meaning" and lies behind everything she does, not only on stage, but in her career.
