After months of talks, threats and negotiations, Khartoum last month finally agreed to the force to bolster the 7000 struggling AU troops and police who have failed to stop the violence, which has claimed about 200000 lives.
"At present, we cannot accept it. We have reservations," said spokesman Ali al-Sadig.
"We are consulting with the Security Council, and believe we will come to an agreed language," he said.
Sudan has said it would refuse to accept any force under a Chapter VII mandate in Darfur. - Reuters
