The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) yesterday referred its wage dispute with platinum producer Implats to the CCMA.

NUM spokesman Lesiba Seshoka said this was after negotiations failed on Tuesday.

Implats has offered a 10percent increase to category A and B employees and 8percent for category C, Seshoka said.

NUM negotiator Eddie Majadibodu said: "We thought we were close to reaching an agreement only to find that Implats is miles apart from us." - Sapa
