A 36-year-old woman who was allegedly abducted and assaulted by her former boyfriend at the weekend returned home yesterday evening.
Vaal Rand police spokesman Captain Veli Mcera said they were searching for Sokky Motloung, the 37-year-old Wieler's Farm, Vaal, man who "forcibly" abducted Xoliswa Jali, 36, from a liquor store she worked at in Walkerville on Saturday afternoon.
It was alleged that her former lover went to the liquor store and forced her into a car. The two then drove to his shack.
Her mother, Ntombizodwa Jali, 49, said she could not sleep and feared the worst when she heard the news that her daughter had been abducted at work.
Jali said her daughter spent two years living with the suspect at his shack before she called off the relationship two months ago.
She said she suspected her daughter was abducted because she did not want to take her ex-boyfriend back.
"My daughter returned home with a bruised left eye and scratches on her hands and her clothes had blood stains on them.
" I fear that he might come back and kill her. I want him brought to book before I lose my daughter," Jali said.
Mcera said earlier that the police had searched the suspect's home and found blood stains in the house. Forensic experts took the samples for testing.
The man is expected to face charges of kidnapping and assault , said Mcera.
