Power feud in Nafcoc office

Businessman Lucky Moloi has scoffed at suggestions that he is not the recognised president of the National African Federated Chamber of Commerce (Nafcoc) in KwaZulu-Natal .

Nafcoc national secretary Golden Malinga sent a damning letter to KwaZulu-Natal acting premier Zweli Mkhize informing him that Moloi is not the "recognised president of Nafcoc KwaZulu-Natal" and is not a senior office bearer of the organisation.

In the letter, which is in Sowetan's possession, Malinga said: "Moloi is not a member of the national federal council. He is currently under investigation over financial embezzlement. He recently opened an office in Durban from which we have distanced ourselves."

In response, Moloi said: "I am the president of Nafcoc KZN. The person who released the statement is a lunatic."

Malinga said Nafcoc will hold fresh elections in the province on July 18.

"This process will deal with delinquent and unscrupulous elements using the name of Nafcoc," he said.
