Mpumalanga police have recovered a new truck that had been stolen from a farm in Limpopo during the night between Thursday and Friday last week.

The truck had been abandoned in bushes at Mgobotsi village near the Swaziland border in the Nkomazi area.

Police spokesman for Tonga, Constable Mzwandile Nyambi, said a herdsman saw the truck in the bushes and informed the police on Wednesday.

"We recovered the abandoned truck and, following further investigations, we established that it had been stolen from a farm in Bela-Bela in Limpopo some time between Thursday and Friday last week, Nyambi said yesterday.

Limpopo police arrived to collect the truck yesterday after Mpumalanga police had contacted them.

"We positively identified the truck as the one that was stolen from a farm in Tweefontein near Bela-Bela last week," said Bela-Bela investigating officer Captain Dolf Smith yesterday.

Police said no one has been arrested for the theft of the truck.
