South African stars will join forces to raise funds for various HIV-Aids projects.

The event will take place on September 1 at the Johannesburg Stadium and will feature the best local talent, including Mafikizolo, Mandoza, Pitch Black Afro, Gang of Instrumentals and Tuks.

Mafikizolo will wow the crowd with sounds from their new album Six Mabone, while multiaward-winning superstar Mandoza will give his fans a taste of groovy kwaito.

New talent and fresh sounds of Tuks Senganga and Gang of Instrumentals will also feature on the bill.

"We believe in the notion of one nation, one love and one people. Music is a powerful way in which people can be brought together and share concerns about HIV-Aids," says co-producer Dingiso Mzwandile.

The University of Stellenbosch's HIV-Aids awareness initiative will feature as collaborators in the concert.

The initiative uses drama and music to convey information about HIV-Aids to young South Africans in rural areas.

The talented Twenty Thousand Drums team will open the concert with a percussion act.

"We aim to unite the crowd through the power of the drum and set the stage for celebration," says Samantha Skyring, the founder of the group.
